TEI begins every search by understanding the client’s business, culture, market, and the specific needs of the role. From there, we define the ideal candidate profile and align on what success looks like before the search begins. We may also help refine job descriptions and share candidate profiles or resumes to sharpen alignment early in the process.
We serve as a trusted partner focused on building long-term relationships that often extend beyond a single placement, including future searches and referral partnerships.

Because we are not employees of our clients, candidates are able to explore new opportunities without feeling disloyal or exposed. Most people want to hear about opportunities that genuinely make sense for them—but no one wants their time wasted. We approach conversations in a friendly, non-threatening way that makes it easy to talk.
Most of our placements come from referrals within our network—people who have worked directly with these individuals and can speak to their success, work habits, and character. We rely on long-standing relationships and an extensive referral network built over 10+ years of recruiting. In many cases, the recommendation from someone who knows the candidate well serves as the first layer of validation, with reference checks often reinforcing what we already understand.
When we need to broaden the pool beyond our current relationships, we continue building our network through targeted outreach on social media and direct connections with other professionals, both in person and virtually.
Many recruiters focus on filling roles quickly and moving on to the next fee. TEI focuses on fit and long-term success.
Hiring decisions have traditionally been based on resumes and a couple of interviews. Real fit takes time to understand and comes from deeper relationships, not transactional interactions. Our process allows us to get to know candidates through ongoing interaction, where we coordinate and set up all meetings and conduct debriefs after each step. This creates a clearer, more complete understanding of both sides and allows us to speak confidently about what will work long-term for both the client and the candidate.

We also stay engaged during the transition, checking in as appropriate to ensure the placement is working well for both sides.
The pricing structure is set up to make sense for the client. 25% of the fee on the front end and 75% upon successful placement. On occasion, a company can decide to promote from within. In that event, out fee is cut in half. Although our clients make the final hiring decision, we guarantee placements for 1 year.
